Iran attaches importance to Sadr’s case

TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (MNA) – FM spokesperson said the case of Imam Moussa Sadr held great significance for Iran as it had always remained a top priority for the country.

Hura Sadr and Mahdi Firouzan, accompanied by members of Imam Mousa Sadr Cultural Research Institute, mulled over abduction of Sadr with Bahram Ghasemi, Spokesman of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Speaking at the meeting with family of the Lebanese-Iranian philosopher and Shia religious leader, Ghasemi said the case was particularly important to him expressing hope that conditions will be provided for Sadr’s release as a result of joint measures by Iran and Lebanon.

Hura, Sadr’s daughter, said for her part that “local and regional crisis as well as passage of time removed pursuing of al-Sadr’s case from priority of governments.”

We, the family of Imam Moussa Sadr, deem it as necessary to remind to authorities that no single piece of evidence exists to prove passing away of the Shia religious leader as we still hold hopes to hear from him.

“Libya's current authorities also hold no evidence that indicates death or martyrdom of Imam Sadr,” emphasized Hura reiterating that Iran's stance on the issue remains as highly important to other party.
